Bike & eBike Hire @ Kaitoke
Important Update: The 2km section between Cross Creek Yards and Cross Creek Carpark is being upgraded to improve safety and visitor experience. The work starts Monday 13 July 2026, with intermittent closures across July, August and September. The trail will often be CLOSED Monday to Friday and OPEN most weekends. When closed, there will be no access and no bypass available.
We will continue to hire bikes for out-and-back rides during this time (will full access to the trail between Wildfinder Kaitoke and Cross Creek Yards and back) but all shuttle options (cycling all the way through to Featherston) will only be available at weekends. Ride the awesome Remutaka Rail Trail, from Wildfinder’s newest base right next to the trailhead at Kaitoke!
Open from 10am until 5pm every day, on a weather dependant basis - please call or book online if in doubt.
The incredible Remutaka Rail Trail can be ridden in one of two ways - either as an out-and-back ride, where you hire the bike by the hour and go as far as you want (we highly recommend going as far as the Siberia Swing Bridge), or, opt for one of our ‘bike hire plus shuttle’ combo deals, where you can ride the entire trail then catch our afternoon shuttle back to our site at the start.
